Test the dye on a hidden area of the carpet to determine if it is a good color match. Since bleach strips the color from carpet fibers the most effective way to get a bleach stain out of a carpet is to act quickly when the spill occurs. Let it sit for about 5 minutes then use a clean damp sponge dipped in cold water to blot the area. Cut some carpet fibers from a hidden area of the floor.

Be careful not to scrub or rub the bleach as this could worsen the stain. In fact carpet cleaning cannot repair this type of damage only a trained and qualified carpet restorer or repairer can help you with this. A bleach spill on a carpet whether it be large or small leaves behind a telltale mark. Take care not to soak the area with water as it will need to dry before you proceed.
