In answer to your question belfast sinks are not commonly recommended with laminate worktops. We would advise strongly against it. Traditional butler sinks sit beneath the worktop so the three sided hole must be polished just like the polished cutout for an undermount sink. The sink installs flush to the laminate not below the surface of the counter to prevent water from soaking into the particleboard.
